Dear Parents/Guardians and Friends,

Happy Fall! Autumn is a beautiful time of year full of glorious reminders of seasonal change. As we are near to the end of first quarter, I want to remind you to connect with your child’s teacher to stay knowledgeable of their strengths and weaknesses in each of their courses. For the Blazer (grades 4th & 5th) and Judah (grades 6th-10th) groups, there are projects that may be completed to boost student achievement scores for the first quarter report cards. Please reach out to any of your students’ teachers for more information. It takes a village to make the learning and development process a successful one—thank you for all you do to love and support your child!

The Month of October is dedicated to observing the thankless work of men and women who serve as Messengers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In observance of Clergy/Pastor Appreciation Month, I welcome you all to join in an extended Chapel celebratory service on Friday, October 23rd at 1763 Cleveland Ave., from 8:30-10AM where we will be honoring all Clergy connected with the work at Sonshine Christian Academy. These men and women of God pray for your children, the faculty, and staff of Sonshine, and they are responsible for sharing the Good News concerning Jesus Christ, declaring that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). Anyone who receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and anyone who receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward (Matthew 10:41). Let’s be mindful, thankful, and show our collective appreciation as Jesus has so instructed. We thank all clergy: Sonshine Christian Academy salutes YOU!

This year we will have a Fall Festival Fun Day during school hours at the NJCM campus. Parents are welcome to join us as we celebrate the start of a new season. We will feature (indoor if it rains) bounce houses, games, prizes, and food trucks. We welcome students to dress in costumes for a cost of $2 (no evil characters are allowed: no witches, devils, goblins, ghosts, or zombies) see flier for details.

Lastly, the Third-Grade Guarantee Standardized Test begins October 19th. Please pray for the students taking this in-person assessment given to ALL third graders across the State of Ohio. Also, please pray for Mrs. Lee, as she has been working tirelessly to ensure that the third graders are ready for all parts of this assessment. For questions about the State Assessment, please reach out to our Administration.
